Some people have reportedly become sick due to salmonella outbreak connected to Gold Medal Flour. In response, Gold Medal Flour has issued a recall for bleached and unbleached flours in four varieties. These four packages are being recalled if your “Best Buy” date on the packaging reads March 27 or March 28 of 2024.

According to the CDC 13 people in 12 states have been found to have salmonella after using these products, and three of those required hospitalization. Of the eight people who were interviewed, seven had consumed raw batter. FYI – You can kill salmonella in flour by boiling, frying, baking, or sauteing the flour.
It is recommended that you discard any of the flours listed above immediately if you have them in your possession. Although we haven’t heard that they are issuing any compensation to replace products, you can also call General Mills Consumer Relations at 1-800-230-8103.
