Walgreens didn’t really have much that interested me this week, but I decided to go into the store and do a few transactions to share with you, plus I wanted to look for unadvertised deals. I had a pile of small Register Rewards left over from previous weeks, so I decided to buy a few newspapers as fillers on the first transaction. If you include the newspapers (which are not listed), I paid $4.99 on $34.44 of merchandise for a savings rate of 85.7%. I figured that I ought to make that disclosure, even though I don’t really think it is representative of my trip.
Also, I forgot the one thing I wanted…a dozen eggs. We still have some left from a while ago (she claims they are still ok), but I’m not so sure I want to eat them. I planned to test using a Register Reward to buy them (it worked last time I tried with no beeps.) I’ll go back tomorrow or Tuesday and see what happens.

1) The Johnson’s Baby Lotion transaction triggered a nice bonus manufacturer coupon from the Catalina machine: $2.50/3 Johnson’s Baby or Desitin Products (excl. 1-4 oz. Johnson’s Buddies and Johnson’s Hand & Face Wipes.) This coupon has an expiration date of 5/27/12.
2) The Clairol transaction triggered another bonus manufacturer coupon. This one was for $4/2 Nice ‘n Easy Haircolor Product (excludes trial/travel size) and has an expiration date of 4/29/12
Excluding the newspapers, I paid $0.99 (plus 63 cents tax) on $30.44 of merchandise at regular prices. Savings rate is 96.7% excluding tax or 94.8% including tax.
Including the newspapers, I paid $4.99 (plus 91 cents tax) on $34.44 of merchandise at regular prices. Savings rate is 85.7% excluding tax or 83.3% including tax.
